Sony Alpha 3000 Camera Settings


1. FORMAT CARD (menu> setup> format)

2. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN MANUAL FOCUS, not auto (menu> setup> MF/ AF)

3. TURN MANUAL FOCUS ASSIST ON or OFF (menu> setup> MF Assist). 
You can turn PEAKING on instead (Set Peaking to HIGH, and set the color to Red or Yellow under same Setup window) and use SNAP Focusing technique (zoom all the way in, focus, then zoom out to desired focal length).

4. RECORD FILE IN AVCHD (menu> image size> record format> AVCHD)

5. SET ASPECT RATIO TO 16:9 (menu> image size> aspect ratio> 16:9)

6. FRAME RATE/ BIT RATE SET TO 60i, 17M or 24p 24M (fx) (menu> image size> record setting)

7. SET WHITE BALANCE TO AWB for now (menu> brightness and color> white balance> AWB)

8. MODE DIAL > Manual

9. APERTURE > Adjust per lighting situation (on the "control cluster" wheel)

10. SHUTTER > 1/60 for shooting 60i, or 1/48 for shooting 24p (on the “control cluster” wheel)

11. ISO > Alter it depending on your location, located on the control cluster wheel. Stay around 400.

12. Make sure to FOCUS!

13. Make sure to hit RECORD!
